STORYBOARD — E5 The Flatline — Solo × At-home (living room, evening)
KD_C0073YAPPER Shot-by-shot for the editor · strategy notes collapsed
Length
full variants A 2:53 (172.5s) · B 2:54 (174.4s) · C 2:53 (172.9s) word-derived; pause-adjusted delivered A 181.3s · B 183.2s · C 181.7s (+0.8s × 11) — band REDESIGNED 2026-07-22, see pause-budget note
Dynamic
solo (mapped from Echo delivery mode D02 quiet-home confessional — see Echo Adaptations)
Setting
at-home (living room, lamp-lit evening; ONE location, ZERO cuts — stillness is the production value)
Speaker(s)
2.1 The "Recovered Patient" Voice (TESTED-INCONCLUSIVE; Validated-in: yapper Solo × At-home) — female ~50, first-person journey, shares-not-prescribes
Visual Style
OFF-DONOR → D02-modal "lamp-lit evening confessional" — solo woman, home setting, direct-to-camera, unpolished; dim warm living room with dark frame edges (the flatline world), continuous native word-by-word captions, zero music, single continuous take; the "lights coming back on" motif reserved as the after-state pivot
▸ Production target & sources
Script
E5 The Flatline v1.2 (Echo 1×3: ONE locked body + THREE interchangeable hooks)
Production Target
Higgsfield Soul Cinema (test mode — delegated; matrix default for solo × at-home). Donor-faithful alternative: real-shoot UGC (ALL THREE D02 pool donors were real one-person home shoots — the fallback is donor-exact here). One beat (product close) routes hybrid to Marketing Studio / real product insert — see Beat 7. One beat (lighting lift) routes to post exposure keyframe — see Beat 8.
The locked script is an Echo-chain deliverable and does not carry v2 Fields 19/20/21/25. Mapping used (E1 precedent):
v2 input the skill expects
Echo source used
Field 19 (dynamic + speaker + archetype)
Script "Speaker:" line + mini-brief Delivery row → 2.1 Recovered Patient, solo. D02 mapped to v2 dynamic solo (direct-to-lens peer address; compat row "yapper Solo × At-home"), not confessional — same ruling as E1
Field 20 (setting/tone)
Script speaker line "living room, lamp light, direct to lens — stillness is the production value" → at-home (living room, evening)
Field 21 (editing style)
NOT declared in the Echo package — OFF-DONOR, so no donor S6 analysis to inherit from. Inherited from the D02 modal grammar of the session reference set: steady single take, native captions, prop-level interaction, zero music (trysoluma steady-take + elavate single-take home shoot)
Mini-brief Mechanism row: T3 starvation dims cellular energy production everywhere — including the wanting-machine
Field 0 (length)
Deterministic runtime block: declared band REDESIGNED 2026-07-22 (Zied confirm) — story-expanded reveal (ratio mechanism) + receipt-ladder transformation + story-scarcity close; new target = the recomputed full-variant range 172.5–174.4s ±5s; word-derived fulls A 172.5s · B 174.4s · C 172.9s (v1.2)
Beat timecodes
Computed cumulative from per-beat word-derived durations. Body timecodes below use the Hook-A baseline (13.1s); Hook B shifts body by +2s, Hook C by +0.5s
Comp visual pool (Step 2) — OFF-DONOR handling
NO donor anchor exists (firewalled explore slot). Per the session convention: the reference set's D02 donors (trysoluma 980830331413584 / thebbco 995846922552450 / elavate 1272849830515980) are PINNED as the comp visual pool — a DECLARED §2f choice, since the D02 modal grammar governs the mini-brief's declared delivery mode. §2b semantic query + §2c draw SKIPPED (pool is convention-mandated); anchors read IN FULL from the local comp library (§2d honored)
Hook-variant handling (Echo 1×3 contract): Beat 1 exists as THREE storyboard variants (1A / 1B / 1C) — interchangeable opening sections. Beats 2-8 are the shared locked-body storyboard. Each variant ends on the identical handoff kernel ("I spent three years thinking my spark just died. It didn't.") into The Flatline.
Delivery markup:[pause] / CAPS / [quieter] stripped from all on-screen text; carried into per-beat DIRECTION notes only. Scripted CAPS words surface as caption emphasis-highlights, never new cards.
⚠️ PAUSE BUDGET (editor-critical — v1.2 restate): 11 scripted [pause] marks per full variant (10 body + 1 hook; the v1.2 copy added 2). Declared band REDESIGNED 2026-07-22 (Zied confirm): story-expanded reveal (ratio mechanism) + receipt-ladder transformation + story-scarcity close; new target = the recomputed full-variant range 172.5–174.4s ±5s. No variant is ceiling-squeezed anymore — pauses run at full weight (+0.8s delivered each); pause-adjusted delivered runtimes A 181.3s · B 183.2s · C 181.7s. Do not pad anywhere; trail-offs already carry the slowness.
02Comp library inspiration anchors
Rotation: reference_usage_log.jsonl still contains only the seed line (E1's append was compat-test-skipped) — EXCLUDE set empty. Same-day anchor overlap with E1 (trysoluma / thebbco / elavate) is a DECLARED §2f re-use: OFF-DONOR convention pins the session reference set's D02 donors as the only donor-grammar source. Log append SKIPPED (echo pilot — handled at package). Pool note: pool = the 3 D02 ads from the session reference set (convention-mandated, not drawn). All three are video, home-setting, solo-woman, direct-to-camera — format relevance 3/3; no static demotion needed.
[Anchor A — CORNERSTONE] 980830331413584 — trysoluma — winner_score 65.7 — video (D02 modal cornerstone) Hook pattern: H08 transformation receipt; floating before/after cards held the full hook; qualification in line 1 On-screen text style: native IG/TikTok auto-captions, bold white sans-serif, bottom third, word-by-word; niche keywords highlighted ("thyroid belly", "1200 calories", "decoy molecules") B-roll cuing: NONE — steady medium close-up carries everything; its 39s mechanism beat (26% of runtime) ran ZERO visuals Transition style: one deliberate hard cut at the mechanism/pitch turn; otherwise zero cuts Mute-test asset: face + floating stills + captions
Best-fit beat type in our script: mechanism reveal (bare steady-take grammar, largest-budget beat) + keyword-highlight caption grammar across all beats; secondary: UMS bottle hold (its 1:51 bottle-to-lens)
Tooling stack inferred: real-shoot UGC selfie (one woman, phone framing) — adapted to Soul Cinema; flagged per beat where the adaptation strains NOTE — its floating before/after stills and its location cut are NOT borrowed: E5's anhedonia story has no visual receipt (nothing to photograph), and E5 runs cut-free by design. Borrow = caption grammar + bare-mechanism steadiness + bottle hold only.
[Anchor B] 1272849830515980 — elavate — winner_score 94.2 — video Hook pattern: H06 rock-bottom diary, disfluent warmth (aggression 1/5 at the highest ws in the whole reference set) On-screen text style: minimal; physical props carry proof B-roll cuing: printed photos held TO THE LENS; self-pinching cheeks/jawline — proof made physical; single-take home shoot Transition style: none — one continuous domestic take Mute-test asset: face + physical photo props
Best-fit beat type in our script: skepticism-before-belief beat inside Feeding the Conversion (its 28s "Product Reveal & Skepticism Validation" is the direct template: "And I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical") + the quiet-warmth register floor across the whole board; secondary: Hook B's physical-object-on-lap grammar (cross-adapted from its photos-to-lens proof move — rationale at Beat 1B, VS6 logged)
Tooling stack inferred: real-shoot home — prop-in-hand beats flagged for AI-render reliability
[Anchor C] 995846922552450 — thebbco — winner_score 70.1 — video Hook pattern: H06 diary blurt in 6s; physical agitation (hand-fan, belly reveal) On-screen text style: sparse; physical action carries B-roll cuing: prop/environment interaction — hand-fan, window yell, THREE bottle holds (one per product named) Transition style: fast micro-beat cuts (47s total) Mute-test asset: physical action + face
Best-fit beat type in our script: product beat bottle-hold grammar (bottle raised AT the naming, held beside face) + prop-interaction vocabulary (the planner). FLAG: its fast-cut pacing and comedy register contradict E5's stillness doctrine — borrowed at PROP level only, never the cut rhythm or the theatrical energy (VS6 cross-adaptation logged)
Global visual spine (applies to every beat unless overridden): 9:16 vertical, eye-level medium close-up, speaker slightly off-center, seated in a real lived-in living room at EVENING — one warm practical lamp camera-left pooling light on her, frame edges falling to warm dark (the flatline world: dim, quiet, nothing moving), unfussy real-life detail (bookshelf, throw blanket, and the PAPER PLANNER on the side table in frame — load-bearing prop, see Beats 1B/8), clean quiet residential audio, NO music, continuous native word-by-word captions (bold white sans-serif, bottom third, punctuation-light — no dash glyphs in the caption track per U12). Camera locked (propped-phone feel), ZERO cuts across the entire piece — E5 is a single continuous take; the one visual pivot is a LIGHTING lift at Beat 8 (declared).
Eye-level, locked, slightly off-center; she is ALREADY seated and looking at the lens before word one — no settle-in movement
On-screen text
OST card "the flatline." — upper-center, smartphone-note style — in at t≈4.5s on "something", hold to t=11s; native captions run word-by-word from t=0; highlight keywords: "looked forward to something", "blaming your age", "three years"
B-roll
NONE — script-declared: "the stillness IS the pattern interrupt." Original-direction rationale: anhedonia has no visual receipt (no before/after exists for wanting) — the motionless dim frame against a feed of motion is the scroll-stop
Lighting

Production limitation
Soul text rendering unreliable → all text in post (standard workaround). 13s single-take stability: no logged entry (limitations file sparse — silent skip per file heuristic); watch for drift at render QC

Production limitation
FLAGGED — page-turning is a hand-heavy action; AI render of finger/paper interaction is artifact-prone (tool-knowledge flag). OPTIONAL (edit decision): at "It's the first light your body cuts to save power" (t≈0:58), the practical lamp beside her DIMS perceptibly for ~2s, then eases back — the VOC metaphor made literal, planting the light motif that Beat 8 pays off. Default if dropped: fully bare beat, donor-exact

26s continuous solo render is the second-longest stability ask on the board (Beat 6's 49s is the longest as of v1.2) — no logged entry (sparse file, silent skip); flag at render QC; split into 2 sequential generations with caption-covered join if drift appears. Production limitation
FLAGGED — legible product label in Soul render is unreliable (text-rendering limitation). Workaround routed above: Marketing Studio closeup-product insert or practical macro composite. Also now the LONGEST take on the board (49s, v1.2) — QC for drift; split-generation fallback with caption-covered join (natural split point: the ratio turn). This is the storyboard's one hybrid-routed beat
None composited — the prop payoff IS the visual: planner from the side table into her hands, opened (closed visual loop: closed on her lap in Hook B, dormant on the table through the body, OPEN again here — and it pays off in every variant because the body keeps it in frame)
Lighting
DECLARED SHIFT — the lights come back on. At "Day 12" (the first receipt) a second practical (table lamp camera-right / warmer fill) comes up over ~2s and the warmth climbs with the receipt ladder: the room lifts from dim-pool to warm-evening-bright; her face fully lit for the first time. Justification: documented hard pivot mirroring the emotional arc — the mini-brief's valence journey (grief→recognition→restoration) + VOC "the first light your body cuts" ("It's like a reverse exorcism. I got my spirit returned to me."); pays off the Beat 4 optional dim. satisfied via this declared, motivated pivot

Production limitation
FLAGGED twice — (1) mid-take lighting change: unreliable in image-to-video render → POST exposure/color keyframe over the locked take, or split-generation at the lighting turn with caption-covered join (real-shoot: practical dimmer, trivial); (2) planner pick-up-and-open is a hand/object action → same artifact risk + workarounds as Beat 1B (simplify to lifting the closed planner, or practical insert)

04Visual continuity audit
ONE location (living room) for the ENTIRE piece — zero cuts, single continuous take; even more continuous than E1 (no donor location-cut exists to borrow — OFF-DONOR). The one visual pivot is the DECLARED Beat 7 lighting lift (dim flatline-world → warm restored-world), motivated by the emotional arc and persisting through CTA (VH2 satisfied via documented hard pivot).
Light-state arc: dim pool (Beats 1-6, the flatline) → optional 2s practical dim at Beat 4's "first light your body cuts" (plant) → lights come back on at Beat 7 "Day 12", climbing with the receipt ladder (payoff) → restored warmth held through CTA. A closed metaphor loop, never decorative.
Planner prop arc: on her lap + closed (Hook 1B) → dormant on the side table in frame (Beats 2-6, all variants) → lifted + opened (Beat 7) → resting in her hands (Beat 8). Closed visual loop that lands in every variant; hardest payoff on the B-cut.
Caption track continuous across all beats and both light states.
Hook variants: all three land on the identical handoff kernel, identical framing, identical light state — any variant cuts cleanly onto the shared Beat 2.
05Mute-test verification
First 5s: PASS on all three variants via face + on-screen asset + native captions (A: stillness + OST card "the flatline."; B: planner-in-hands action + card; C: ticking checklist). Strategy = Fork 4 option 1 (speaker face + on-screen text), enriched per-variant with the script's own staged assets.
Hook OST specs: A "the flatline." (2 words, t≈4.5-11s) · B "the flatline." (t≈7-13s, prop-carried before it) · C checklist "the weight ✕ / the hair ✕ / the wanting" (6 words, ticking t≈4-12s). All ≤12 words (VS2 pass). Face+captions persist the full 5s on every variant (VS5 pass).
U12 scan of viewer-visible on-screen copy: zero em/en dashes (cards, checklist, the optional OUT-OF-STOCK flash, caption track specified punctuation-light; ✕ marks are not dashes). The v1 guarantee card is REMOVED as of v1.2 (guarantee unspoken — strategic choice).
06Production-limitation cross-ref
production_limitations.md remains a sparse skeleton (<3 entries) → formal YS6/VH3 cross-check silent-skipped per the file's own heuristic. Tool-knowledge flags applied from avatar_tool_prompt_syntax.md instead:
Soul Cinema text rendering unreliable → ALL on-screen text/cards/checklist in post (every beat).
Long-take stability (Beat 4, 26s; Beat 6, 25s) → QC for drift; split-generation fallback with caption-covered join.
Legible label (Beat 6) → hybrid routing: Marketing Studio closeup-product insert or practical macro composite.
Hand/object actions (Beat 1B planner page-turn; Beat 7 planner lift-and-open) → artifact-prone in AI render; simplify the action, shoot practical inserts, or real-shoot those moments.
Mid-take lighting events (Beat 4 optional dim; Beat 7 declared lift) → unreliable in image-to-video render; execute as POST exposure/color keyframes over locked takes, or split-generation at the turn. Real-shoot: practical dimmer, trivial.
No trained Soul ID exists for speaker 2.1 → /higgsfield-soul-id training pass is a production prerequisite (same flag as E1; speaker file carries generation specs, no reference_id).
Real-shoot fallback is DONOR-EXACT here: all three D02 pool ads were real one-person home shoots. If Soul QC fails authenticity, the entire board reads as a real-shoot shot list unchanged except the Avatar-tool prompt fields.
07Tooling prompt index
Per-beat Soul Cinema prompts collated above (Beats 1A/1B/1C, 2-8); Beat 6 carries the hybrid Marketing-Studio/practical product-insert routing; Beats 4/7 carry the post lighting-keyframe routing. All prompts share SOUL_ID kindled_2_1_recovered_patient (to be minted at Soul training) and the 9:16 evening-living-room scene grammar. Copy-paste ready per avatar_tool_prompt_syntax.md Soul conventions.
08SOFT flags surfaced (operator review)
VS1 (B-roll density): body beats 2-5 run ~0 composited B-roll per 60s — below the 1/30s floor. CONFIRMED-INTENTIONAL: the script's own doctrine line is "stillness is the production value," and the D02 modal grammar (Anchor A's zero-visual mechanism beat, Anchor B's single-take bareness) is the observed winning pattern. Pressure valves if retention data disagrees: the Beat 4 optional lamp-dim, and caption-highlight density.
VS6 (cross-beat anchor adaptations): 3 logged — Beat 1B planner ← Anchor B's proof-zone photos-to-lens technique (upstream adaptation, rationale inline); Anchor C prop grammar borrowed WITHOUT its cut rhythm or comedy register (Beats 1B/6/7); Beat 3 dismissal register ← Anchor A's hook-zone dismissal line (deliberate — the dismissal is E5's villain). Rationales inline.
VS3: every beat cites an anchor or logs an original-direction rationale (Beat 1A stillness-as-interrupt; Beat 1C checklist mechanic; Beat 4 lamp-dim; Beat 7 lighting motif + planner loop; Beat 5/8 bare-beat rationales).
Pause-budget flag (Echo-specific, v1.2 restate): band REDESIGNED 2026-07-22 — no ceiling squeeze. 11 scripted pauses per full variant at full weight (+0.8s delivered each); pause-adjusted delivered runtimes A 181.3s · B 183.2s · C 181.7s against the redesigned target (word-derived full-variant range 172.5–174.4s ±5s). Editors must NOT pad; the trail-offs already carry the slowness.
OFF-DONOR anchor re-use note: same-day overlap with E1's anchor set (trysoluma/thebbco/elavate) is a DECLARED §2f re-use forced by the OFF-DONOR convention (the session's D02 donors are the only donor-grammar pool). Non-D02 reference-set donors (sereneherbs D01, tryleaply D03, ancestral D03, resilia D10) were EXCLUDED from the pool — wrong modal grammar for a quiet-home confessional.
